Hartnell & MacArthur Celebrity Golf Classic in Lloydminster!  ”

The Hartnell & MacArthur Celebrity Golf Classic Committee is pleased to announce the Presenting Sponsor of the 1st Annual Hartnell & MacArthur Celebrity Golf Classic: Fountain Tire Lloydminster.

The Hartnell/MacArthur Celebrity Golf Classic, presented by Fountain Tire, will be a multi- day golf event. The event will include a meet and greet and Celebrity social on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, followed by a day of golf, dinner banquet, auction, and entertainment on Wednesday, June 22, 2011. 36 celebrities are expected to attend, including Lloydminster-born hockey players Scott Hartnell and Clarke MacArthur.

This tournament will raise funds for several important causes in our community. The charities of choice include: the Lloydminster Region Health Foundation (LRHF), in support of high-tech equipment for the Maternity Department in Lloydminster Hospital, scholarship funds for the Lloydminster Public School Division (LPSD) and Lloydminster Catholic School Division (LCSD), in addition to local group (s) who will be selected via application process after the event.

Brant Wheeler, Manager/Spokesperson of Fountain Tire, says “We knew immediately that we wanted to support our community in this way, and we were thrilled to be asked.  When we found out which causes were being supported, it made the decision even easier. We love our community, and are proud to give back to health care and education in this way”  He adds, “We love the concept of a Celebrity Golf Tournament, and are very excited to welcome Scott and Clarke back to their home town for a great event in June”.

Hartnell & MacArthur Celebrity Golf Classic Committee Co-Chair Bill Spence explains, “There were a few of us who got together and thought, ‘It’s time to bring a premiere Celebrity Golf Event back to Lloydminster, and raise some money for a few great causes’.  Hartnell and MacArthur immediately came to mind. They are two tremendous guys who are willing to give of their time and talent to support their hometown. We are very proud to be working with them for this event”
